We struck gold with our teachers! A yummy give back from our HSA to our wonderful educators.

Our Winter Wonderland Dance was both beautiful and fun! Our kids danced the night away, enjoyed delicious treats, fun games, and more!

Our busiest but shortest month!

Our Reading Rocks Assembly kicked off our 2025 Read-a-Thon. A great time was had by all!

Welcome to Camp SJG- Students pitched tents, got cozy in sleeping bags, crafted, and enjoyed delicious treats at our special read-a-thon nighttime event.

Valentine's Day is always special at SJG with our tradition- Valentine's Day Book Bingo!

Who knew future geniuses were hiding in elementary school? Trivia Night: where the answers are wrong, but the fun is totally right!

December 2024

Our second graders had their annual gingerbread house making with their special parents. Our HSA donates all the gingerbread homes each year.

Happy Holidays from the HSA! Students were treated to delicious hot waffles and yummy toppings! We wish everyone a safe and merry holiday and very happy new year!

An Attitude of Gratitude in November 2024

In our month of giving back- we celebrated our wonderful teachers and staff with a delicious luncheon and stocking of the teacher lounge. Thank you for your dedication to our children!

To continue with our November theme of gratitude- we held our first "Helping Hands and Giving Hearts" volunteer event where our students, with the help of their parents and some special staff including Dr. Portas, made sandwiches and bags of food for those less fortunate. We donated over 100 bags to Eva's Village in Paterson. Additionally, the students wrote letters and drew pictures to send to our troops stationed all over the world. We want to specially thank ShopRite in Lincoln Park and Stop and Shop in Pompton Plains for their most generous donations!

October 2024

We had so much fun in October! We started the month by celebrating our wonderful custodians on Custodian Day! Additionally, the installation of our much anticipated Gaga Pit was a hit! The students earned this after a successful Read-a-Thon from a year prior. The HSA sponsored Healthy Snack Day 2024 with a selection of various healthy fruits and snack options for our wonderful students and staff. We had a great turnout at our first Scholastic Book Fair of the year. Here’s hoping your kids came home with more than just erasers and pointy fingers! We had a lovely parent turnout at our October HSA meeting . We thank all parents that joined our HSA Boo Crew for our boo bags and baskets delivery. We ended the month with our yearly favorite, the SJG Halloween Party, where parents got creative decorating tables and kids had the time of their lives loading up on sugar and fun!

Our Gaga Pit is here!! Students raised money during our read-a-thon and earned this new pit for playtime!

Happy Custodian Appreciation Day! We celebrated our wonderful custodians with a Visa Gift Card and Chocolates!

Thank you to all the HSA Volunteers that helped make our Fall Scholastic Book Fair a huge success!

Our Boo Crew Fundraiser was a success. We loved delivering Boo Baskets to your kids!

Our SJG HSA Halloween Party was awesome! Thank you to all parents who helped make this event spooktacular!

A September to Remember

September 2024 was jam packed. The HSA started the month by providing the decorations on the first day of school and a back to school breakfast for the teachers. We held two successful fundraisers- an exciting spirit wear sale with one-of-a-kind new designs as well as our annual Mum’s sale. We donated mums to the school, raffled off mums to six of our wonderful staff, and gifted mums to our principal Mr. Reiner and our secretaries, Ms. Deitch and Ms. Arena. We had a great time at our first annual Back to School Family Picnic where our kids enjoyed backyard games, music, SJG tattoos, pizza and ice cream treats with their family and friends. It was an exciting month! We are looking forward to all we have in store for October!
